Manufacturing is vital to the future economic prosperity of the UK and Lombard has partnered with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) to support and promote UK manufacturing businesses from SMEs through to large corporate companies.

Lombard is a proud partner of this year's Manufacturing Excellence (MX) programme, which provides support to all UK-based manufacturers, no matter their size, age or area of expertise.

Business Improvement Programme

Businesses are called to conduct an in-depth self assessment audit of their processes and strategy. Once completed, companies receive a complimentary benchmark report that identifies their strengths and weaknesses and makes recommendations for improvement. A mentoring service is available for those who require guidance through the self assessment process.

Manufacturing Excellence Awards

The best of British manufacturing is something to celebrate and, as such, companies who complete at least one module of the business improvement programme are eligible to enter into the selection process for the annual MX Awards. The awards culminate in a prestigious ceremony that brings together over 350 manufacturing industry professionals. In the past this event has been held at The Dorchester Hotel and hosted by people including Alastair Campbell, Vince Cable and Andrew Marr.

MX Club events

Manufacturing Excellence also provides a platform for networking among industry experts through the MX Club. MX Club events take place throughout the year, are open to all and are usually free to attend. The calendar includes industrial visits, workshops and lectures. These events are a perfect opportunity to share best practice methods, network with industry specialists and learn from world class companies.
