ARR Craib Transport Ltd is one of the leading suppliers of road transport and transportation services in the UK. Based in Aberdeen and established almost 30 years ago, ARR Craib provides road transport services locally for the oil and gas sector, and specialist and general haulage nationally.
As a long standing client of Lombard, ARR Craib has been impressed with both its level of service and its innovative approach to finance, and once again chose Lombard to fund the company’s latest fleet update. ARR Craib was investing in its modern fleet of 480 trailers and called on Lombard and its relationship with the manufacturers to fund a further 30 flatbed trailers using a £500k Finance Lease with a manufacturer buyback finance solution. Graham Rettie, Lombard Relationship Director, explains, "With the help of my colleague Dilip Nathwani, Lombard Relationship Director, who deals directly with the manufacturers, we were able to structure a deal with the trailer manufacturer, Dennison, that ensured a price which enabled an improved rental per week for the customer."
ARR Craib was able to take delivery of 30 new trailers at a rental that was less than when it dealt with the manufacturer five years ago. The fixed term and payments suited the customer’s needs and the delivery of the funding went smoothly. John Bain, Finance Director at ARR Craib, explains, "The new trailers will not only keep the fleet up-to-date but also support ARR Craib’s customer base. We’ve been able to manage our costs downwards from previous deals with the assistance of Lombard's team."
