Neil Parker
Neil offers his thoughts and opinions by regularly speaking at corporate events and seminars, hosting a regular monthly conference call for clients and attending client meetings.
While working for the Bank, Neil has specialised in UK economic analysis, the US and Euroland economies, and also foreign exchange and interest rate markets. In this capacity he’s participated in a number of industry seminars and forums as a keynote speaker.
During his career, he has also worked closely with former MPC member Marian Bell on a research project studying inflation trends and interest rates markets. This research lead to the formation of the banking group’s Inflation Swaps trading business in the late 1990s.
Neil is also the leading researcher and writer on all of these subjects for clients, including regular content features such as the FX Week Ahead, Monthly Strategy Economics and Market Update, FX Reuters Poll, and ad-hoc commentary around market-moving events.
Neil graduated from University of Essex and holds a BA honours degree in Economics, and a master’s degree in International Economics. He joined NatWest Markets in 1995.
Neil has been in his current position since 2010. He was previously UK and US Economist (1998 to 2000), and FX and IRD Strategist (2000 to 2010).
