What is retrofit?

Retrofitting means changing existing buildings to make them more energy efficient; making changes to the fabric of our buildings, our technology and our behaviour in those buildings. This is focused on energy reduction: ensuring that the building needs less energy to heat and power it, and energy generation: ensuring that the energy required to heat and power the building comes from less carbon intensive sources.

We need to retrofit the building stock across the UK, to lower the carbon emissions produced from running them, and to provide cleaner, healthier places for people to live and work.

Who is the School?

The Supply Chain Sustainability School provides free learning and support in the form of training, events and networking, e-learning modules, tailored assessment and a library of online resources.

The School is driven by industry; it’s a collaboration of over 225+ partner businesses across built environment, who provide training accessible for free to their supply chains and wider industry – training over 50,000 individuals a year.

NatWest Group and the School

NatWest Group has become the first banking partner to the Supply Chain Sustainability School, an industry-wide collaboration of major companies aiming to improve sustainability knowledge and skills in the built environment sector.
